UNT Murchison Contest Results
On Saturday, April 18, 2009 all of the North Mesquite Concert bands competed in the UNT Murchison Festival held in Denton, Texas. All three bands received straight ONES from the judges. This is the first contest in several years that the Concert Band (Heather Becker, director) has attended. We are so proud of those students for this terrific accomplishment. Congratulations to all students on your hard work on the contest music. Our band continues to get better every day thanks to your efforts.
UIL Concert Results
Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Jones. The band performed great for the UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest at Richardson HS. On stage and in sightreadying the band earned a SUPERIOR rating. This means that our band has earned the coveted SWEEPSTAKES award for getting a SUPERIOR rating in all three contests: Marching, Concert, & Sightreading. This is the first time in five years that our band has earned a SWEEPSTAKES award. Wonderful work! The students played awesome!!
Congratulations are in order for the members of the Symphonic Band. On Tuesday, April 14th, the band took part in the annual UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest held at Richardson HS. On stage the band earned a SUPERIOR rating from all three judges. In sightreading the band earned an EXCELLENT rating from all three judges. Great work, everybody!

Solo & Ensemble Contest Results
Saturday, February 7th our HS students competed in the Region 3 Solo and Ensemble Contest at Mesquite High School. Many students did very well, and some even qualified to perform their solo or ensemble at the State level in May. When you see these students congratulate them on a job well done!!!

These students earned the ability to travel to Austin and perform in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May:

Big congrats to these fifteen students who were placed in the Region 3 All-Region Band. After preparing the music since August, these students auditioned through two phases and placed among the highest of all students playing the same instrument. They will participate in the All-Region Band Clinic and Concert in January.
